American College of Thessaloniki is seeking a full time Coordinator of Student Services (CSS) as of February 2016 to cover its temporary needs. The CSS will be responsible for coordinating and managing study abroad and international student services and promoting student life at ACT.
The CSS reports to directly to the Director of International Programs and Student Services.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Manages operation and coordination of student housing. This includes carrying out short and medium term planning of housing needs, including identifying suitable off-campus and on-campus housing to meet Study Abroad and International student housing needs (in coordination with the I.P.O. Director).
Coordinates meetings with other offices, third party providers and workers (landlords, maintenance crews, cleaning crews, housing residence assistants, bug exterminator, I.T. specialist, locksmith, security gate crew, etc.) in order to manage the student housing and guarantee the wellbeing of the students housed.
Promotes student life in ACT housing, sends out information to students and keeps detailed reports and updates on all housing matters.
Maintains student housing agreement records and meets with students who violate the housing agreement.
Interviews and recommends students for the position of Resident Assistant (RA) of the Ladas housing unit for international students.
Mentor and direct supervisor of the RAs of the Ladas housing
Manages the Service Learning (SL) Program by creating and maintaining relationships with local business and organizations, arranging student placement schedules, selecting and training chaperones and reviewing partnerships at the conclusion of each semester.
Prepares and maintains all SL files and statistical documentation that records both qualitative and quantitative documentation of this service.
Sends out SL information as needed to partner schools and individual students.
Offers assistance to students with their Residence Permit applications, streamlining and coordinating all phases of the process and providing all necessary information and deadlines to students before the beginning of the process and throughout the process.
Maintains all documents and relationships with third parties involved in the Residence Permit Application process. Researches and updates policy changes, creates student files, maintains protocols, maintains contact information with third parties.
Participates in the student orientation program by presenting on topics related to housing, student life, safety and residence permits.
Member of the ACT Crisis Management team which deals with study abroad student emergencies (health and otherwise). This may require after hours availability if emergencies arise.
Partakes in weekly I.P.O. and S.S. staff meetings
Contributes to ACT functions in person or with ideas as needed
Compiles and distributes the weekly Activities Bulletin
Accompanies/Chaperones students on 1 day trip per semester and 2 weekend trips per year.
Education and/or Experience
BA or MA degree in management or other relevant field
Excellent command of the Greek and English languages
