Reservations Agent/Officer
Incoming Tour Operator/Travel Agency Meli Tours is seeking to hire a talented and experienced reservations officer/manager for permanent employment at its headquarters in Thessaloniki.
Necessary qualifications
For the position of Reservations Agent/Officer in our company, the following skills are necessary:
• Proven work experience in incoming tourism (at least 5 years)
• At least 3 years of previous experience in a similar position at the reservations department of an incoming travel agency dealing with reservations for hotels, excursions, tours, cruises etc (FIT & Groups)
• Excellent use of English (both written and spoken)
• Experience in using the back-office of a modern ERP for incoming Travel Agencies/DMCs
• Very good knowledge of CRS/CRM/MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)
• General familiarity with technology & computers
• Experience in serving corporate / wholesale clients
• Excellent written and verbal communications skills
• Excellent knowledge of hotel & tours reservations
Desirable competencies/skills
For the role of Reservation Agent/Officer in our company, any of the following skills will be considered as a strong plus:
• Knowledge of a second foreign language at a very good level

Job Description/duties
As a Reservation Officer/Manager in our company, your main responsibilities will be to:
• Operate as the first service line for all our wholesale clients (Travel Agents, Tour Operators, Event Organizers)
• Respond to all incoming reservation requests via telephone, emails, online reservation system and social media.
• Ensure a fast and efficient telephone answering service in accordance with company procedures
• Promote and maintain excellent client relations by managing a prompt and accurate response and positive email, telephone and service techniques to reassure maximum client satisfaction.
• Manage clients’ bookings for accommodation, transfers, tours, excursions, activities and air/ferry tickets
• Input Reservations in the back-office of our touristic ERP, ensuring all details are accurate and complete in line with the agreed departmental standard.
• Ensure that all procedures relating to back-office requirements and deadlines are adhered to at all times
• Maintain knowledge of all our products, rate plans, packages and promotions, in order to provide excellent quality service & guidance to our clients
• Build up a good rapport with our important clients / regular bookers on the telephone to encourage future loyalty and business opportunities.
• Maximize company revenue by taking every opportunity to develop additional business through the up-selling and cross-selling of ancillary services & products, whenever this is possible.
• Develop and maintain an excellent rapport with our suppliers to ensure knowledge of their products and a quality service in line with client expectations and travel policy
• Create original travel itineraries for FITs & Groups
• Liaise with local travel agents/transfer companies, guides, hotels and other suppliers
• Ensure a high degree of personal skills, accuracy and attention to detail, and a positive attitude.
• Perform as part of a team, assisting colleagues where necessary and carrying out other relevant duties as requested by the Management.
• ensure all business travel reservations are accurately handled, deadlines are met, and correct documentation is provided in accordance with company policy and procedures
• Be able to handle unforeseen problems and complaints and contribute to a high rate of customer satisfaction
