The American College of Thessaloniki (ACT) is seeking applications for various adjunct faculty positions for its new Master of Science in Hospitality & Tourism Management program. The positions are temporary part-time assignments for the academic year 2015-2016, may be renewable upon agreement of all parties and could evolve to a permanent full-time assignment. The instructors will provide expertise and knowledge that support the college curriculum and programs, and have to establish courses following accepted higher education standards, teach students (lecture and laboratory) using a variety of effective methodologies, and provide engagement and support activities that encourage student learning.
The positions refer to the Anatolia School of Business, which is the business department of ACT. The new program is scheduled to start in September 2016. The fields of interest include the areas of:
– HR in Hotel & Tourism
– Hospitality Management
– Tourism and e-business
– Marketing for Tourism
– Destination Management
– Events Management.
Please note that the official language of ACT is English; proficiency in written and oral English is essential. All candidate instructors should cover the following desired qualifications:
– Applicants must have a Master’s degree in the related field. Applicants with a Doctoral degree or in the process of finalizing their doctorate will be particularly evaluated. Published work in peer reviewed journals and conferences will be considered an asset.
– Previous experience in college level teaching is a plus.
– Professional field-experience will be considered an asset.
– Knowledge of the contemporary business developments will be appreciated.
– Experience working with a diverse population of students of various ethnic backgrounds is valuable.
– Excellent written communication skills as well as proficiency in online teaching platforms (i.e. Moodle etc.) are necessary.
– Knowledge of the philosophy and principles of a liberal arts college is helpful.
