Brepols Publishers is an international, renowned academic publisher in the humanities with 50 employees. Alongside its portfolio of printed and electronic scholarly books and journals, Brepols publishes state-of-the-art online databases. Brepols is based in Turnhout (Belgium) and has offices in Thessaloniki (GR), Nottingham (UK), and Los Angeles (USA).
Brepols wants to strengthen its in-house organisation for the creation of state-of-the-art books and e-books. For employment at our Thessaloniki office, we require a (m/f):
Prepress Technician
Based in our Thessaloniki office, you will contribute to the preparation of printer files for print and e-books in an XML-first workflow. Drawing on your knowhow, experience and your team spirit you will perform the following tasks:
– XML-based typesetting
– Process (text)corrections in XML
– Check and adjust images and graphs
– Check and prepare cover files
– Render print files from XML
– Perform technical checks on print files (preflight)
– Upload e-books and metadata
Are you a dedicated Prepress Technician who:
… has a good knowledge of XML, Photoshop, InDesign and Adobe Acrobat Pro?
… has an analytic mind capable of mastering and operating multiple software programs?
… has a passion for books and technology but shares an interest in history, languages, …
… is accurate and efficient?
… is proficient in English; other languages are a plus?
… is flexible, ready for self-study, diligent team player with the skills to work individually and to finish projects autonomously?
